I have bayliner cobra 87 fish and ski and i had a jackplate installed for vertical adjusting. so far i have learned that the cavitation plate should be coplaner with the under side of hull.
but the design of the v-hull ends flat 20 inches before the transom. note that i have 2 hulls at differnt elevations(2.5inches).I can't figure out which 1 of the 2 to line up with cavitation plate..any pros out there.

Re: bottom of hull

i had that same question when i aquired an 1988 cobra - i was told it was a step hull.
it had a 125 force 20in
i found a deal on a 99 120 25in.
didnt get motor so got rid of boat& replaced with a 94 trophy.
-
anyway i have seen both shaft lengths on that model.
good luck.

Re: bottom of hull

As I said, Line it up with the lowest point of the forward hull, not the step in the back. Understand??
