Great lakes boat in need of fresh bottom paint, if I repaint going into the fall is the paint still good next season? Have used Micron Extra previously. Thx.

Re: Bottom Paint

What will you be using an ablative or anti-fouling? Will the boat stay in the water full time or will it be pulled out for the season?

Re: Bottom Paint

I have been using Micron Extra with Biolux which is advertised as antifouling and can be taken in and out of water. Boat will be taken out in the fall for winter dry storage....

My yard thought the paint was ok for another season, but think they were off abit. Needs another coat soon.

Thx.

if you repaint this fall, you should be fine for the next season. im in the great lakes as well and i will sometimes skip a year in bottom painting. the best thing about bottom paint is it makes removing the growth on the bottom so much easier when you take the boat out. and if the yard does that for you, take their advise - they are the ones who will have to work harder with the power washer. best of luck
