I kinda agree with EWENM
however having worked behind some aussie stuff, some bermuda stuff, some, actually a lot, of bahama stuff and worked in venezuela.
trust me, idiots are everywhere and all they have to do is buy some tools from sears.
yes, we do have a lot of idiots with web pages, vans, ads and no clue.
and yes folks spend thier cash with them and eventually it comes to a trained tech and we condem it.
thats why it got sold for 1500 dollars in the first place. it was junk.

AMEN!!!

I just sold a 3.0 Mercruiser engine to a guy. He took it to his marine mechanic to have him put it in. A week later I get a call from the guy who bought the engine telling me that there is a vibration coming from the boat. I asked him if he aligned the drive when it was installed. He said "Here talk to my mechanic hes standing right here". This guy get on the phone and I ask him the same question. Before I even finish he cuts me off and says" Ive been a mechanic for 40 years and I don't need no stinking bar to tell me if the motors straight. That engines got a bent coupler".

I laughed and hung up on him. Haven't heard back nor do I want to.

40 years. How much money has this guy ripped off from boat ignorant patrons?

It'd be nice to hear the final solution. To many people bug out when they get it fixed. Somehow I don't think that it was ever brought to a marine tech, just a guy with a tool box.
