Should the bow eye end up above or below the trailers winch roller?
( this is a large boat, if that matters at all)

Re: Bow EYE??

Depends on how tthe trailer is set up but I prefer the bow eye below the bow stop. This way in aa panic stop the bow eye and cable/strap help to try and retain the boat on the trailer.

All things considered, if it will winch up below the stop, stay there.

Re: Bow EYE??

My thought is if the bow eye needs to be wherever it ends up when the boat settles into the trailer bunks or rollers, (usually below the stop) the bow eye may hang on the stop (if above)while launching (not good) and then upon retrieval do just the opposite, below is how both mine are.
I believe that if you (god forbid) have and accident that bow eye isn't going to stop the boat from launching into the bed of your truck, that's where a safety chain from the bow eye down to the trailer frame comes into play.

Re: Bow EYE??

Right now the top of the bow roller is sitting flush with the bottom of the bow eye.
If I drop it 3-4 inches, the bow eyes above the bow roller and that will bring my transom flush with the end of the planks?????

ERRR:confused:
thank guys
