Bravo 3 steering sensor and Trim sender and trim wires, DTS adaptor cables?

Hi, probably a long shot but worth asking as I have spent hours searching for answers.

I have installed a new Mercruiser V8 6.2l engine with Bravo 3 Drive and struggling with 2 connections.

The Engine has Smartcraft instruments and a DTS Console. And most of the connections are fairly straightforward except for the last two.

The Engine has the 14pin Deutsch connector to the dashboard and a 16 pin Engine Harness cable.

The steering sensor was an “extra” fitted before the engine was installed so possibly have the wrong adaptor cables. Also I seem to be short of an adaptor cable to connect the Trim sender and trim wires plug (3 cables) to the engine harness. On the engine harness there are connectors for both the steering sensor and trim but the connectors do not match. The manual makes a vague suggestion regarding adaptor cables, but no clear guidance.

I hope that’s clear!!

Has anybody fitted these and if so would you know what the part numbers of the cables are or at least a link to drawings?

This engine is the Mercruiser “in-house” V8 6.2l 350 HP.

Thank you

Looks like you need manual 8M0099748
The helm 16 pin harness is for DTS and 14 pin is for mechanical

The motor uses a 14 pin harness is different.

The communications between the helm and motor is done via CAN buss

Hmmm .. that's where it gets confusing, The cables all came with the rigging kit and the DTS controller as a package. there is a cable that is connected at the dash that connects the 14 pin connector from the engine to a DTS junction box. This cable also has all the DTS controller connectors and connection to the Smartcraft gauges and the installation manual shows all the connections. The engine harness was pre-assembled with all the connections for the Mercathode, Power Trim etc. I have the installation manual as well as the operating manual, I will see if I can obtain the service manual.
Thank You

The manual number listed above is the install manual, and I also have it.
Page 4D-21 shows the 14 pin motor connector and other connectors like the 10 gauge connector for analog gauges. 16 pin on 4D-18

Just an update on this if I may.

On the engine harness there are connections for the Digital Trim and the Steering Sensor and the plugs fit all o/k. What tended to throw me was the colour of the wires on the engine harness connectors is different to the senders’ connectors. Time will see.
