Bravo II Gear Ratio with 5.7L EFI?

Can someone please help me understand what would be the appropriate gear ratio for Bravo II outdrives with a 5.7l EFI Mercruiser engine? This setup is on a 2000 290 Sea Ray Sundancer that I am looking to purchase and want to ensure I understand what the parameters should be should I decide to replace/overhaul.
