Stripped down my 1990 6hp evinrude to replace the water pump impeller (not getting much flow). Before reassembling everything I checked water flow through the crankcase by attaching a hose to the water pipe. Turned on the tap and most of the water was coming back down the engine leg inside. The copper water tube was split (I've now broken it off after wiggling it).
Do I need to remove the crankcase to replace this part? I have a manual coming from the U.S (I'm in the U.K) but I'm not sure how long it will take. Could anyone point me in the right direction in the meantime?
Also, I've noticed that the parts listings for these water pipes all say no longer available. Will I be able to get a replacement part somewhere? Or will I be able to make one?
Thanks
