'87 200 Mariner<br /><br />Well guys here it is ... the first actual problem on the first outing ...lol.<br /><br />Thank god there were no kids around for the vocabulary exhibition <br /><br />My bottom carb is puking gas everywhere!?!?<br /><br />Need a hand with this in the mean time if you guys know whats going on before I start ripping the thing apart and start replacing stuff w/o a knowledge base or clue.<br /><br />thnks up front to all!

Your float valve is probably sticking. Get a can of Power Tune from your friendly neighborhood Merc dealer. Drain the carb. Disconnect the gas hose into the carb, and squirt some in (5 seconds). Let it stand 2-4 hours, hook everything back up, and go fishing.<br /><br />That's the quick and easy way. But if you have varnish, there is more in the carb than this will dissolve. If one had varnish, they all have varnish. If you go thru one, go thru all.

Barlow,I'd be troubled too with a carb pukking everywhere.Just where are you talking about?<br />Overflowing?<br />Spraying out when running?<br />spraying out when cranking?<br />when squeezing the primer?<br />Some one else will ask what motor we are working on.<br /><br />DHP

thnx WBW ... will give the Power Tune a try this morning/afternoon and see if this resolves the problem first.<br /><br />I'll get some pics of it up here today too....<br /><br /><br />DHPMARINE - top of my post .... *up-date*<br /><br />I tried three local Merc. dealers yesterday with no luck on the Power Tune.<br /><br />Is Power Tune a Quicksilver product?<br /><br />- talked with an old friend in the La Crosse area and he says the local dealer there has a few cases on the shelf.<br /><br />will try a few others today tho.

well I found the explanation to the problem and if it wasn't so obvious I wouldnt feel like a complete fool <br /><br />TWO float screws worked loose..<br /><br />not only did one but two...<br /><br />replacing this afternoon and dropping in the water for a test ride .. <br /><br />thanx for the help tho fellas.<br /><br />learning experience for sure - KEEP EYES OPEN
