Re: Building a shroud - Any advice?

Well I'm realizing there is more than a "closed" component. Since there is nothing across the back, the two sides can flex quite a bit, especially at the top corners... So I need something not only to hold it down, but also in place. I like that latch idea though, so maybe I just need a small pin (or screw) to protrude slightly above the back corners to hold everything in place horizontally.

You could very easily add a piece of square allunimum tubing screwed directly to the top and make it fit very snug between the side supports. Then you could just use flip latches on both outside top corners to hold the lid down, the kind that has a latch keeper that turns once the hasp is in place. Boats and campers use these a lot, or if you wanted to go whole hog you could us a set of hydrolic clyinders like on a hatch back car.

I like the aluminum idea... That would give me the extra support I need in the corners. The latch idea is good too, as I wanted something that pulled down tight.

Thank you!
