Really starting to look like a boat now ! I guess the rocking chair is for contemplating your next step .. Everyone needs one of those ..
yep, that is the quintessential staring chair...an absolute necessity in any project lol....maybe Iboats will start selling staring rockers ;)

Looks like a really fun, quick project, you'll be at paint in no time..thats the fun stuff! lol...I would go hunter green hull with muddy red trim....for that authentic look..but that's just me.

That is exactly what I am using it for. I stare at it and think about how to lay things out. My wife sits in it and watches as well.

Calling it a night. Got the floor cut out and tacked into place. I will be fiberglassing over this week sometime.

Looks nice! ........A bit late now,( you made the right choice anyway)....... About plywood choices, I saw where birch was mentioned, .... Birch has very poor rot resistance, it would be a very poor choice for boatbuilding. your ACX is just fine.

Yes, birch would be very poor choice for a wooden boat, but just about any plywood is a bad choice for a wooden boat. A composite boat (which is what just about everyone builds nowadays) where the plywood is a structural core that is fully encased in fiberglass, any quality wood is good.

Your boat is looking good. In no time you will be on the water. That is what is great about building the small tiller outboard boats.

It looks like Isaacm1986 is doing quite a nice job. I'm not going to get into a "thread drift", however there is nothing wrong with plywood for building boats (and no it does not have to be fully encased in fiberglass). High quality boats have been built of plywood for well over half a century. Every lapstrake sea skiff built by Chris Craft was plywood (with no fiberglass at all)

Every Newporter ketch was sheet plywood (built from the 1950's into the 1970's).

And this is not even the beginning of the list. ......... And 'fiberglass' with polyester resin is not waterproof.

Keep up the nice work Isaacmc1986.

Thanks guys! I have been slammed with work and have no time to work on the boat. I did get half of the bottom glassed last night, but still a long way to go.
