Re: bulb not pulling gas out of fuel tank?
jwh, this will tell you if you have a problem or not, do this.
1st, make sure the bulb is pointing in the right direction, the arrow on the bulb should point away from the fuel tank. Fuel flows through the bulb only one way. Check this before try this next.
Remove the hose from the discharge end of the bulb, have someone else hold a container while you squeeze the bulb, before letting go, put your finger over the discharge hole so no air can get back inside. (while doing this point the end of the bulb in the container so you dont spill gas all over the place)
hold your finger in place, letting the bulb reopen, squeeze again remove finger, than cover the hole again, repeat this 3-4 times.
So, squeeze, uncover the hole, than cover the hole let go of the bulb.
if this doesn't get the gas to your bulb, your sucking air in the tank/line somewhere.
I dont think you have air leak b/c you said......
"The vent is open and if I close it and it sits over night when I open it next day you can hear air coming out of it"
if this is happening, you have no air leak. if there is an air leak, it couldn't build pressure.
