hi gents !
my boat does not have a factory shore power connection so i want to build one by myself. the idea is to get an automotive battery charger and permanetly connect it to the battery. then you just need a long enough cable and a shore connection adapter and can plug in from shore to the battery charger which then feeds the battery...
but when the engine is running and the battery is fed by the generator the current will take a reverse flow with the ( then not operating ) charger still attached to the battery- from battery to battery charger. what dou you think about it ? is there anything wrong to keep the battery charger connected to the battery when the battery is charged by engine generator ?
thanks in advance
