The FJ Cruiser through a belt due to a frozen belt tentioner pulley & cut a trans line before I could shut it down. Had to watch it dragged away on the hook. I was on my way to pick up the boat, wife & baby for a nice day on the lake. It was such a great day here on Saturday & today looks damn good too. It's the only thing I have with a hitch on it. I'll tell you what; this week the wife's SUV is going to PEP Boys for a hitch. This stinks, I even took a ride to the lake anyway just to have a look & wish I didn't, almost no one on the water & smooth as glass. If you have a few pic.'s of your day post'em up so I can wimper a little more:D:D.

Felt that way last weekend after a vasectomy. This weekend more than made up for it though! Very thankful that is a surgery that's easy to recover from!! :D

This is from last year, but this is where we were at yesterday & it looked about the same:

Re: Bummed out for weekend

Sorry for the cruddy weekend.

I want to join the pity party, I am having the worst luck finding a boat to restore and getting a little on the angry side. I sit on this dang computer refreshing CL and other sites every 20-30 min, and as soon as I find one I call and someone is already on their way to pick it up. GRRRRRRR..... I am never gonna find a boat.......:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Dirt Diver: Glad you are ok and thanks for serving. One OEF vet to another.

I know exactly how you feel. I bought my Boat while I was on R&R at the beginning of last month. Now she sits parked waiting for me to rotate back to the World.

Not to mention the fact that I have been asked twice by other people if they can borrow it. That is in another thread but the answer was ummm NO. But thanks for asking.

Stupid Afghanistan. It wouldn't be so bad but there isn't any freaking water around here. Then again that might just make me miss my boat even more.

Oh well I'll be home sometime next month just in time for the end of the season. I'll get her out on the water a few more times before she has to go in for winterization. Then she can have her Hull Wet sanded, Buffed, and Waxed after some gelcoat repair.

I would have left the vehicle on the highway and got the tow truck to haul the boat to the lake for you.

Re: Bummed out for weekend

i feel your pain.........

bought boat memorial day weekend, dad broke leg getting out of the boat at end of test ride, which has messed up everyones summer but hey stuff happens

3 weeks later after collecting all my legal stuff fixing a couple trailer issues and a lot of cleaning. i get it on the water and it runs fine most of the day untill the end then starts acting like water in gas....

drain gas new plugs filter fuel line.....this took a couple weeks due to work and lousy weather.

take it back out, runs good for about 5 minutes then starts making not nice noises and barely plows me back to the ramp...

fuel line on #2 carb split open, starved cylinder detonation melted piston pieces of ring scattered and pounded into head and etc...

rebuild $1500 and 2 days short of a month to get it done.

i get the boat back tuesday

so far my pertrip cost is

boat purchase $1000
misc junk to outfit boat,
it came with nothing,
trailer needed a couple things ~$400

motor rebuild $1500

total $2900 for a about a 5 hour day in a 16 ft aluminum v bottom, not counting the hospital/doctor bills... on dads leg which is close to 60k so far thank god for insurance

Well, I'll go ahead and jump on the pity wagon. We have had two beautiful weekends, sunny, hot, humid, and my boat sits in its garage all covered up. The river is flooded and closed!:(:(

So you;re not alone, the entire Northwest corner of Illinois is with you.
