Burnt Wire - Merc 60

I've been unable to get spark to any of my three cylinders and yesterday I pulled the cover off the electrical compartment of the motor where I found that one of the three yellow wires looks like it is burnt bad enough that it isn't connected anymore. This wire is one of two yellow wires (plus two red wires and a grey wire) that runs to the Rectifier/Regulator. I can repair the wire, but I'm wondering if this condition isn't trying to tell me that something else is wrong and needs to be fixed. Any comments are appreciated.

Disconnect the 2 yellow wire that come from under the flywheel to the rectifier and see if your spark returns, a shorted rectifier can kill the spark if that don't help, disconnect the kill wire (black/yellow wire) and if that don't work get back and let us know and will get the test procedure for you

I tried the black/yellow wire with no luck. I found that info in my manual. I'll try disconnecting the two yellow wires and see what happens. It is a 1994 model. Motor # 0G038237 60 HORSE 3 CYLINDER OUTBOARD.

Yea, it worked!!! I also tried the kill switch while the motor was running and it killed the motor. We tested the charging and that is good also. I will reconnect the yellow wires and shrink wrap. Thanks for your help.
