Re: Bush's Approval Rating 38%

The problem with an approval rating is that it is black and white. You either like him or hate him.

Why not give him a rating of : great, good, mediocre, bad, horrible.

Think I'll start a new poll.

Ken

Re: Bush's Approval Rating 38%

You start off the description of a scientific poll with the words "I think"..... you must be joking, right?

You previously stated that you "have a pretty good understanding of polls"...... I think you should rethink that.

I think you don't know anything about "scientific" polls, you just think you know and that must make it true.

You can slap the word "Scientific" on anything, such as diet pills that make users shed pounds like an old jacket.... but it doesn't make it correct.

You fail to explain how the poll that you trust was conducted.... how did they get a random sampling? I'm waiting to know how they got such a random sampling; where, when, etc.

As for your request where my scientific poll that favors Bush.... maybe you are missing the point, so I'll put it in large letters starting (now) POLLS ARE WORTHLESS, THEY AREN'T ACCURATE AND DON'T REPRESENT THE AMERICAN POPULATION, THEY REPRESENT THE FEELING OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE POLLED (end).

So, I don't have a poll, because I don't place any credit in them. Not just now, but during any administration.

I can say, as I have other times in this thread, that the last time ALL American's were given the opportunity to give their opinion, they went to the polls and voted Bush as President of the United States. That tells me that a majority of Americans favored him, at least more than the competition (let's not go into an explanation of electoral votes vs popular, we all know how it works).

True rolmops.

If polls weren't legit or didn't supply us with some useful information, it wouldn't be a multi million dollar or possibly a multi billion dollar a year industry.

Think about all the industries that use polls or surveys for very vital purposes. The the radio and television industries life blood depends on accurate polls. The automobile industry are huge consumers of polls. Department stores and big box retailers use polls to try to find out where they can do better.

The problem with political polls is you have a few partisan polls being conducted that throws distrust into the whole poll-taking industry. I think we all know the legitimate polls from the phonies.

KRS, you are an expert because you do not believe in the information they provide? Let me put it in large letters for you also, GOOD ONE!!!(end) If they are worthless as you say, are you posting here to convince yourself of this, or others?

As far as how they get their samples, Zogby for instance indicates that my description is accurate. The rest is kept a secret by them.

That tells me that a majority of Americans favored him
Are you sure? If we are being picky, did a majority of Americans even vote??? So, the majority of Americans did not elect him. Based on your own criteria, the past election was worthless because not all Americans voted. Many of which are over fighting for our right to vote. I wondered why W did not want a recount.

Bush is still falling, he's down to 37% today, but he's consistent. And they say you can't keep a good man down, they're right.

I must recall the 2000 election somewhat better than you do. W did not do it entirely alone, Gore did his part as well. However, W became our Pres and promised to bring us back together...DID HE NOT? The MEDIA did not say this, did they OJ? It was W that said this. Why do you think he said this OJ? Was it because we were already united? You don't think he said this because he had a hand in the division?

You tell me it sounds like JH. Incredible, you are the person lacking understanding, or the cahooneys to call a spade a spade.

Before you post an attack, you should understand the story first. A person in a JH knows this basic principle of argument. Hmmmm...where does that put you?

http://archives.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/12/13/got.here/index.html

This is not some writers imagination at work. It's a timeline of the 2000 election. I suggest you read it OJ to see what W is quoted as saying.

Since you don't watch the 6 o'clock news, you must have a direct line to all the happenings of the world. Or is your only line out through Rush?

Since you brought up my intellect, or lack of it OJ, you do understand that I hold the same position as 62% of Americans...correct? Furthermore, I can also correct the grammar of your 3 sentence post if you would like. If you want to make baseless, personal attacks, keep firing.

38% of what on what . these polls ar never clear , they should be broken down into different sections, the economy, homeland security, domestic policy, foriegn policy, war, ect ect and soforth. then they would be usefull. We and he would know where the people stood. Some things he does I agree with some I dont.
