So I busted my trailer light, and I just got a new one. But I don't know how to install it. Do I just screw the new one in and fuse the two pairs of green and brown wires together? How would I do that? How do I go about installing this new light? Here are some pix:

The first two are of the busted one and the last photo is of the new one

Solder and shrink tubing. If you use wire nuts the repair will last about a month. Less in salt water.

All above is correct, but in the photo it looks like the side that your hand is holding should point to the outside of the trailer. It looks like it could be a side marker as well as a rear light.

Yup. You've got the light upside down. The wires come in the bottom of the light and the side marker points away from the trailer.

Other than that, it's as simple as you thought.
