Re: camping solo
I like to have people around, but I do like to fish alone. I don't have to worry about the fish not biting or going in because someone was too cold. I usually do it when I am on vacation with the family. They don't want to fish or swim, I go out alone. The swimming alone is probaly not the best idea, but it is really nice to go in on a warm moonless summer night, look at the stars and the milky way. You hear the loons in the background and not much else. Hard to find a good night when the mosquitos are not out, but they can be had.

As far as fishing, nothing like sitting there fishing next to a beaver lodge when your can hear the babies squeaking inside. I like to go using just the trolling motor so I don't make any noise. I have been within 10 feet of beavers that were eating the inner layer of bark without them ever knowing (their bask were to me). Blue herons fishing for frogs 20 yards away. It is a spiritual experience. You and the earth.
