Can An Attwood 800 GPH Tsunami Cartridge Aerator Pump run dry without burning up?

I just bought an Attwood Tsunami- 800 GPH-Cartridge Aerator Pump and installed it on my Carolina Skiff. The way my boat is set up, the pump draws in water while the boat is sitting still or while underway at slow speeds. While underway at high speed the pump can't draw in water because of the location of the intake on the transom. Will the Attwood 800 GPH Tsunami Cartridge Aerator Pump burn up if left running during these dry times while running at high speed? The Attwood part # is 4650-7

It shouldnt but their isnt much point in running it dry.

I've been giving this some thought. If there is an accessory position on your ignition switch connect it there assuming its not common with on position of the ignition switch. There may be some residual water that remains in the pump with it running at least for a time.
I assume with the pump off the water would run out of the tube/pump eventually.
Perhaps put a big tag on your boat key so if you start your motor it will remind you. If you have a place you store your rod
a message there or big red dot there.
Now this gets a little involved ; If you mounted an electronic bilge sensor outside the transom or maybe small enough you could have it inside the intake or in a tee just inside the transom.
Mount a big red indicator/pilot light next to the key.

You could always replace the external portion of the thru hull with a scoop fitting and it should draw water while underway...unless you pull from the transom.
