Can anybody tell me how to move a steering gear?

Hey whats shaking guys? I am about to make a center console for my 13 foot boston whaler and I was curious on how I would move the steering gear and wheel? Can anybody give me a detailed answer?

here you go, DJ used a channel that mounted to the deck.
