Re: Can I skip the stringer epoxy soaking? Can I use resin instead?
Basically its thickened epoxy. You add fibers for strength or microballons for filler.

What your doing is making a putty to fill in gaps. if you need to fix say a floor edge to a hull you use fibers. 1/8" or 1/4" the longer the better but the longer the stronger also more rough the stuff is. If you filling a gouge in the hull, cosmetic, then you use microballons and little fiber.

The putty can be made so thick you can hardly spread it or like "peanut butter" hence the name.
If it too thin the epoxy or poly will run away from the fibers. What's this peanut butter yall speak of?
