Depends on how much you are looking to spend and what kind of power you plan to use, and of course your ability. I have seen several in my area that have made add on aluminum transoms and then put on outboard/s Its do-able just how much????

I think it would be a "no" on fixing it. It is hard to fix what ain't there, and a lot is missing.

Your time and $$$ are better spent on something else.

I certainly wouldn't pay $500 for that.

yeah.....i agree....that was a doaner boat or a theft victim.

yes it can be fixed....its an 05....so the celing is about 8k for re sale, depending on the power.

but at all you are buying is the trailer and possibly the windsheild.

Heck I would fix it if I was going to keep it. I suspect it was rotten and scrapped or as opps said stolen and chopped. If you keep it power to suit yourself. If you are thinking of selling it a comparable drive line must be found to match the boat or that 8 grand will only be 2 grand if your lucky.

Re: Can this be fixed?

I'm considering buying this boat and trying to fix it. What do you guys think?
I was going to offer $500,
http://tucson.craigslist.org/boa/2641416245.html

I was almost sure this was a facetious question when I saw that the asking price was 1,650. It just seems an obscene asking price for a damaged boat, exposed to the elements missing part of its transom and missing a motor. However, it seems there is serious consideration here. In my neck of the woods you can get a "project boat" with an existing motor albeit not running on a dubious looking trailer for ~$300. Could be worth a trip just meet this guy and talk it over. It could be he meant to type $16.50. As far as your question guy; you know it can be fixed; you could even make it 5' longer if you want to. :D

at least chat with the guy cause I wanna know how it got that way! Is that just an epic fail DIY transom repair, or did something happen that they had to remove that section for repair and never put it back. Its just wood and fiberglass so it could be repaired surely
