Cannot find where trim/tilt wires go

Hey guys,

I've been searching forever to try to figure out where I believe the port side trim sending unit wires go. I have a 1982 cobalt bowrider with the merc 260 and merc outdrive. There are the I thinki two blue and white wires as well as a purple wire that I have the other trim tab hooked up to and it works I think. I have down and trailer buttons currently functioning on the switch. No up on the switch though. Gauge also does not work. Any idea where the other trim tab plugs in to?

The port side wires are the trim switch limit wires. You have the wrong ones plugged into the trim connectors. The two black wires from the port side trim limit switch should plug into the connectors with a purple/white wire and two blue/white wires (does not matter which wire goes into which connector). Once you get them connected try the trim up, if it does not work try jumpering between the two connectors with a piece of wire, should work then. Good luck.

Oh BTW the down and trailer switches are independent of those connectors and would work in any case.
