Ive recently come into a 1968 mercury outboard, a model 110 9.8hp unit that we've managed to start after a little fiddling and a new fuel hose. Problem is the unit is idling much too high and I can't seem to find the adjustment screw.
I've seen lots of posts where folks say to adjust the screw anywhere from 1/8 to 1/2 turn but nowhere that has a picture, image or description of where this screw is. We've tinkered with every screw we could find on the carb (always putting them back afterwards) but none seem to make the slightest difference and the engine still seems to be idling way up in the 1500+ range.
Can anyone share a description, picture or image of which screw we should be focusing on to lower this down to a safer vrev range?
