can't find model number Evinrude yachtwin 4hp

Seems this motor has been repainted but the plate or sticker on mounting bracket is missing... I got this number off the motor plug though. C 0056377 ... I will need to change/repair the recoil start spring as it doesn't pull back the cord after a pull... can't start the motor Any help much appreciated. Thanks

If you can post a photo with the hood on and off. Is it a more modern CDI ignition or something older like from the 70s? Which recoil is it?

I'm going to post the pics. I'm afraid I'm too much of a newbie to know what a CDI ignition is. The recoil system is on the side with a plastic "bendix??" gear that rises to meet the flywheel. Pics will be up in a few minutes. Thanks

That looks like a 1974 model number 4436.

thanks. Hardwater.. I'll now start to hunt for a spring... once that is fixed I hope it'll start.
I'd really like to use is as it is more portable than my minn kota's battery.

The spring is brp part number 0312932. Also maybe you can find that here sierra part number 18-6511.
