Re: can't get all the rpms

sounds like you need a compression check, you are losing power under load. Dont rev it up in neutral to often, causes premature wear, which causes pwoer loss. If it has sit my experience says it is worth a visit to your local wrench......get a carb rebuild, water pump, and check the compression. Might be toast, might not. If you are comfy working on outboards and mechanically inclined you could do it all yourself. My money is sometimes best spent on someone better/faster than me.

If it has set that long my guess is the problem is gummed up high-speed orifice in one or more of the carburetors.
