I was getting low water preasure readings,(1990 200 Yamaha), I decided to replace the impeller. Took the lower unit off switched out the impeller put it back on, and got a big fat 0 on my preasure gauge.

My problem was impatience... I screwed up seating the pump, I should have used new gaskets, and I didn't put the key back on the shaft properly so the impeller did not seat all the way. I messed up.

Today I had much more patience. So I again pulled the lower unit, used new gaskets, new housing, put the key in correct, and seated everything fine.....

Now I can't get the lower unit back on. The shift spline goes in, the feed from the pump goes in, and I think the shaft is going in (partially) because I can no longer spin the prop, but it stops about an inch and a half short of fully seating. I've been at it for 3 hours with a helper, but we are skunked...

Put the lower unit back on yesterday in less than 5 mins but today not getting far? Please any suggestions / recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also... Had the boat for about 1 year. Besides the impeller, thermostats, lower unit lube, plugs, de-carb, and greasing all fittings, would there be any other annual maintenance that someone could recommend. This is my first Yamaha, and I have been VERY happy with it.
