I have been changing props and now I can't get the alum.prop with the rubber hub to snug up it is loose enough to rattle. The S.S.prop with the fixed hub snugs up fine. The stress washer looks ok , the washer behind the nut looks like it is warped out a little. Can I put a thicker washer behind the nut or have I damaged the rubber hub?

Looked at the hub again and found that the prop moves on the brass piece , the brass part is snug against the stress washer, the rubber insert looks good but will still slide up & down on the brass. ???

Most rubber hubs are fixed hubs..???what other hub are you reffering to, style-wise? If your talking a flo-torq or XHS style, sometimes they require a different thrust washer, but if you have a pressed rubber hub with brass (bronze) splines, the hub is shot if the prop moves without the inner hub moving.....
