I have a 2007 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust and was trying to grease it, but it won't take the grease. Ive taken the zerks out and put them in the gun and grease goes through them. I've tried two different guns, the same results. This motor has very few hours on it, maybe 40. What are my options???? It has always taken grease before.

When you have the zerks out can you probe into the hole with a piece of wire to open up or remove old, hard grease! Maybe carefully apply some heat to the hole with a heat gun or hair dryer to melt old grease. Good luck!

I did just that. While the zerk was out, I used a 200+ lb. braided stainless fishing line and tried to run it into the one on the side which lubes the vertical pivot, and nothing but good looking grease there. The other is beneath the right side of the housing towards the front. I can stick a small nail in that one close to an inch, again, clean grease. Nothing else. Obviously it plugged in there somewhere. I'll try some heat and see what happens. Many thanks.

wiggle joint while appling grease, if this doesn't apply heat, you may need propane torch. it will burn paint. also try penitrating oil,pb buster is about the best. let us know

I agree with everyone that says heat. But be aware that most greases have a fairly high melting point. Say 300 to 400 degrees. What has most likely happend is the cavity that the grease goes into is full, and has no place for the older grease to excape while you are tring to pump more into it. Be carefull with the heat, there are some nylon type bushings on the main pivot of the leg of the motor. Penitrating is for sure worth a try, the best one I have found is made by Seafoam and is called deep creep.
Good luck!
