Cant Raise or Lower Outdrive- Alpha 1

Have an 88 Sea Ray with the Alpha 1 outdrive. Spent the afternoon on one of the local lakes having fun, cruising around and watching ski boats yank inner tubes around with kids hanging on for dear life. Reminds me of the good ol days hehe. Any hoo......trip was successful til i got home. When I went to lower the outdrive I got nothing. No clicking.....no sound of the hydraulic pump kicking in.....nothing. Worked fine at the ramp to raise it.....probably an hour time difference. So what should I be looking for around the hyd. pump? A fuse? solenoids?? I rarely use the trailer button on the throttle......usually use the switch thats on the back of the boat just beneath the hand rail that works (or should work) whether or not battery switch is on or off.

no sound at all sounds like power. Mine is hooked up directly to the battery. I would check there first, could also be a bad switch. The trim is limited by a switch that cuts power to the trim, the trailer switch kind of over rides this and lets it raise higher. But going down these should have no impact. I think there is a fuse on the trim pump but cant remember, you can also check to make sure the trim pump plug did not accidentally some off.

There is a fuse on the solenoids and a inline fuse on the red coming from the handle. If the 110a fuse on the solenoids blows your motor won't work at all. Does your trailer switch on the throttle work? it could be the inline fuse but I wouldn't think the trailer switch should work either but maybe someone added the second trailer switch and bypassed the inline fuse. Here's a diagram of what I think you have so you can start troubleshooting with a voltmeter it could be you just gotta clean up the connections but you gotta see where you have voltage and don't.

No trailer switch doesn't work either. I'll check the 10A fuse to the solenoids. All the wiring is in excellent shape and looks like its all factory original. I see no evidence of the P.O splicing any wires. Appreciate the help and info.

No click no nothing sounds like a power interruption to me as well. check grounds, look for corrosion, wiggle wires and listen for Crunching (wire corroded inside cable).

All the wiring is in excellent shape and looks like its all factory original. I see no evidence of the P.O splicing any wires.

Ayuh,.... When it comes to wirin',...... Looks, just don't matter,....

Start at the battery, 'n remove the power cable to the trim pump, 'n clean it to shiny metal Clean,....
Ditto the ground cable,....
Ditto the connections to the solenoids,....
