Re: Carb ID number

Manufacturer is Tillotson. Go to their website. Look on the support section. They have a list of all the carburetors they make and reference the motors they were fitted to.

Re: Carb ID number

The TC carbs will fit either the 120 or 125 horsepower Force engines. (or Chrysler 4 cylinder engines.)

WB26B Is usually an 85 horsepower carb, Chrysler or Force. Off the top of my head, WB8 and WB9 are probably for three cylinder engines. If you remove a bowl and look for the venturi size stamped in the casting under the float, if the size is 1 3/16 they are for smaller 3 cylinder engines. If they are 1 5/16 they would have been used on 85-90 horsepower engines.

right on ill check that out tomorrow, the WB26B came off an 85 chrysler or so i was told buy the guy, but the block numbers and everything else matched my 70 chrysler so i was worried the guy had just swapped cowls, but its good to know that there are honest people still out there .

so 70hp carbs are smaller then 85 and 90hp ?

For Chrysler, yes. But don't think that swapping carbs will give you 85 ponies. The 70 has much smaller exhaust ports and that is pretty much what sets the power output.

Those carbs are for a 125 begining 80's to 90.
What are you trying to do with them?

Here are a couple of photos of my 105 with the big TC carb conversion. They really don't do much extra but psychologically, they just look better on that big four cylinder engine. It now puts out an honest 90 horsepower. Your friend can install them but tell him not to expect miracles and certainly not to expect 135 ponies.

Question about the 90 HP? Chrysler rated the 105 at the powerhead. When ratings became standard in the early 1980s, Chrysler simply re-rated the 105 as 90 horsepower which it always delivered to the prop.

BTW: It tops out at 45 GPS on this 15 foot Glastron V153

Re: Carb ID number

nice, you did a good job on the paint and the emblems,

i just pulled apart all three carbs and all are 1-3/16 with different main jets
70hp has .062
85hp .064
hopefully 90HP .066

any reason for this ???

my 70hp on a 14" comet with 2 blade brass runs 40mph but after that it gets hairy

This little gem of an engine does 45 on this 14 foot flat bottom. It took 30 horsepower more to reach 55 then another 30 to reach 60.

Jet size is not only a function of higher horsepower--usually the jet size increases with higher horsepower engines-- but it is also related to carb design. Although the basic casting is the same all the smaller WB carbs are vented differently to maintain constant fuel/air ratio.

Same thing with TC carbs--they look the same but there are subtle differences.

Practically speaking, I have never re-jetted a carb or had any running trouble when switching from one horsepower to another. For example: The 105 originally came with two 1 5/16 venturi WB carbs. I simply switched manifolds and bolted on the much larger TC carbs with no modifications.

Oh, OK! I did rejet my modified 140 from .094 to .105 main jets. No increase in performance and less fuel mileage.

Re: Carb ID number

so you guy think i should run the carbs with the larger mains or do you think it will even make a difference since they are all 1 3/16
