carb interchange

I am missing the carb on my '58 fastwin 18, will one from a '54 15 work?
Also need the air silencer box

Will it work? Maybe. Will it work well? Probably not. The 18 is a couple more cubes and draws more air, as well as fuel. I don't have the carbs in question in front of me, but I am pretty sure the 18's venturi is a bit bigger to accomodate greater flow.

I may have an 18 carb somewhere - will look this weekend...

I would think that 18hp carburetors should be much more plentiful than 15hps. Simply because there were so many more of them made.
