Just got the boat in the water and barely got back due to carb issues... I'm not that big on the holly that is in there.. Am i able to get any other carb to replace it?

I have a 93 4.3 h.o.
The carb was overflowing and we couldn't get it to work correctly... I ended up loosing almost all oil pressure... I don't know what to do ... Hopefully the motor didn't get ruined...

A little more info... I was keeping an eye on my gauges to make sure I wasn't overheating the motor it ran steadily at around 175 tops....

I'm looking at a 600cfm marine Edelbrock will it work?

Your thread is all over the place. Someone with more knowledge could tell you if the Edelbrock carb will fit your manifold and throttle bracket.

Did you rebuild the carb recently? If not, you'll probably want to. Sounds like your float and/or needle is out of whack.

The carb has zero effect on oil pressure and engine temps.

Re: Carb issues

The interesting thing was i had great oil pressure before the carb had started acting up.. So i really don't know what to think of that...

Did the oil pressure gauge say you lost pressure? Did you check it manually with a mechanical pressure gauge? If not I definitely would.

Well if the engine is struggling to run and the RPM's are low...the oil pressure will be low as well. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can rebuild the carb in an afternoon. I did it last Saturday...took me 2 hours to remove...rebuild....re-install... figure out I screwed up the float level (gas pouring out the top)....remove again...fix float level....re-install again. This was the first carb I have ever done.

Re: Carb issues

Got the boat running with a carb I had in my garage just to make sure everything was running correctly... I just need to make sure that edelbrock 1410 marine will work with my boat looking to replace the holley carb that was in there...

if your carb adds say, a couple of quarts of gas to the oil due to flooding, oil pressure will definitely be affected. change the oil before running it.

I don't *think* an Edelbrock mounts where a Holley was. but it depends on which manifold you have. Edelbrock probably makes an adapter to do the trick.

There were 2 different ones on a 1993 4.3 from OMC, not sure why:

0983874 MANIFOLD, Intake. 4.3 Litre 4V Models "JVB" Suffix
3850381 MANIFOLD, Intake. 4.3 Litre 4V Models "JVN" Suffix

The Edelbrock 1410 is a 750cfm unit for big block V8's. A 4.3 uses a 1409 if going that route and you'll probably have to rejet a 1409, so you might want to see what tuning parts a 1409 comes with or are available.
