The black object I believe is a mechanically operated bowl vent and not an ajustment point. I do not know why they are used but I have a feeling that it is auto emissions related. Definately not marine.

Ok, looking at the marine carb bowl in Holley's marine section, it looks like the needle/seat set-up is different. Mine is like the auto 460 above and the marine ones don't have the silver nut or the screwdriver slot in the top. Is this how you would adjust float level? If so, I'm guessing the needle/seats in the kit might work in my carb?

Ok, You have the regular float bowls. the needle and seat you need are in the kit # I posted earlier. The secondary diaphram is # 135-4 they are nine bucks or so. <br />Jon
