I just aquired an 1960 Evinrude 15hp outboard motor. The seals are deteriorated, specifically the O ring around the bottom of the jet.

Can I still get these parts and if so where? Would a rubber faucet seal work if it was close enough size? Thankx

Re: carb kits

Hi TT
The parts for these motors are pretty much readily available. You can get kits from your local dealer or order them from Nappa auto parts. I don't think a fauset washer would stand up to gasoline. You would end up with a big mess. As I have tried this in the past, I can say from expierance, it ain't worth it.

Yes, parts are available. Rebuild the carb right with a new float and all the gaskets and it will be a good runner... Check the coils and condensers while your at it... if you need any other help please feel free to e-mail me

gra6961@usa.net

Allan
