Anyone know where I can get just the packing washers for a 59 evinrude 18hp? Had a small "accident" and they are kinda mangled, sure dont want to have to buy an entire carb kit just for the frigging washers.

Some John/Rude Dealers carry them Chris.....leftovers from carb rebuilds.

I've used teflon packing from the plumbing supply isle in a building centre as an alternative. Iboats member Chinewalker says that greased cotton thread also works.

As OBJ said, I've purchased them seperately. No problem.

I used some "Fireline" fishing line for this purpose, it's a synthetic twine coated in Teflon wax. Seems to work really well, certainly better than the rubber O-rings that were installed in my Lightwin when I got it, they sealed OK but allowed the needles to vibrate and lose their settings.
