I have a force 50 hp 1989 us marine model 507y9b. I want to gather up some parts to rebuild the carb this winter. I want to replace the float old tin one brass whatever with a new plastic float. I know there has to be some out there as I see the rebuilt whole carbs on ebay with them in it but I simply cant find one for force. is there some other mercury float or one that fits this carb that one of you know a part number for?

MarineEngine.com has a parts department that can find anything. Check them out, even if you half to call.

That's something you might not find??
If yours is still usable, coat it in oil/grease and keep it away from water.

They didn't make a lot of replacement parts for these motors.
The ones they did make were really BAD and pretty much useless.
The 125 They made a replacement float with no way to adjust the level(trashed it)

I wish I could find the old brass adjustable floats for my 90 Sport Jet engine
The plastic ones are not adjustable and seem to not be correct and some say that they tend to block ff the main jet at WOT.

About the only way you'll get floats for the 85/90 is buy a set of carbs and hope they're ok.

guess my float is gonna have to do. yes its still in carb and is ok. just thought about replacing everything from the jet to float and needle idle screw. the idle screw is on its way. mines been seated a bit tight it looks like. float pin is slightly bent got one coming too. when I cleaned the carb last week I had the float in gas. didn't get ant in it so it doesn't leak no dents.
