FreebeeT
He has the 4.3 chevy so the carb was not a bolt & go, we had to change the primaries, secondaries, rods & springs. Once we got it going on the muffs we took it to the lake and had to make some additional changes. We should have just started from the baseline on the water, skip the muff tuning step. might have saved an hour a so...

Mine went on a 305 so it was pretty much bolt and go. i have messed with some to improve performance but to no avail. the stock settings worked well.

Well I did it.......bolted it on, connected the electric choke and started right up.

Will be taking it out tomorrow for a test run.....sure hope this fixes the problem!

I ran a wire from the ignition switch to the choke......I noticed the connection on the ignition switch was not very good, so poor that when I first started it, it would shut off. I thought something was wrong with the carb but found the voltage on the + side of the coil was intermittent! After I cleaned the connections it ran fine. I wonder if that was part of my problem to begin with? I may never know!
