Would someone mind running through carb sync on a Merc 150 type "B" carbs. My manual dosnt cover this at all. I do not need the timing sync, just the carbs. I didnt screw them up, I just want to make sure they are right on.

Re: Carb sync

yep. if not closed, loosen the philips head screw
and force shutter closed, then proceed...
BTW, according to manual, when up-side down, float
should be set 1/16" above, but these r thirsty
girls and even has worked fine 4 me in past.
better to have a bit extra LUBE/fuel than too
little for me at least.
carefully inspect fuel fittings for any cracks.
is common for a cracked fitting to cause air
infiltration.
rounding 3rd, headin 4 home LD :)

Re: Carb sync

OK now, I have had two people tell me to set the floats even with the carb body when upside down, but in my way of thinking, when you turn them right side up then you will have "less fuel" because the floats are going to shut off sooner and be lower than if they were 1/16th" higher. I now have them even and back on the engine, so we will see when I get the carbs synced and try it again.

Actually they will plug up 1/16 inch later. Before they would plug before the float was even now they plug when they are even.
