carb tubes cracked in evinrude 88 spl

Hey guys recently started to take apart my carbs on my free boat. Trying to follow advice I got on this site. Was told first off do a compression that went well. Then rebuild carbs, not so well.

So heres the questions the tubes behinde the butterfly are cracked will this be a problem?

If so how do I go about replaceing them are they pressed in?

I'mgonna try to attach some pics so you can get a better idea of which tubes.These are from the outside looking into the engine.

replace the carb. or atleast the upper part of it.

Not that it make's any difference, but I wonder what caused that. Look's like acid damage, but where would that come from.

The urine from the mice that were living in the outboard I would think.

I dont understand what you mean by the top half of the carb??

The tubes are part of the whole carb body.

Does it have to be a carb specific for an 1988 88 hp spl?
What would be a good place to look for a new or used one?

Well went out and bought 8 carbs but none of them are exact matches to the ones I removed.

The ones I removed are 1 3/16 casted on the front of them and have plastic bowls with a removable plate on the top of the carb to acess passages on the top.

The ones I bought 3 of them are 1 5/16 and 3 are 1 1/4 casted on the fronts and they all have metal bowls and don't have the plate on the top to get to the passages. They look like they have lead shot in spots on the top instead to clean the top of the carbs.

Will these work and which would work better on my 88 spl?

wrong parts are a good way to destroy an engine. what is your year and model #?
