I have a 1995 Sunbird Stinger with the OMC 3.0 Cobra motor. The boat sat for almost two years so I had a little work to do. I changed the oil, plugs, cap, and so on. The boat fired right up on the first shot and ran a little lumpy and then would stall as soon as it reached running temp. Figured there was moisture in the tank and lines so I drained the gas out and put in new 91 octane with dry gas. Pulled the bowl off the carb and cleaned that to. (did the filters too) Fired it up, same thing, let it cool back down and started it again and same prob. One thing I did notice is it is idling a lot better. Kinda out of ideas other than needing to rebuild the carb. Am I maybe missing something? Oh! forgot to say there is an excessive gas smell after running. The one big thing that it is making me think it is the carburetor. Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Re: Carburetor issue??

is the choke opening once warmed up? might want to remove the flame arrester and observe it - check the power to it if electric
