new Question found answer to last one it was in the manual.
Evinrude 1980 2 cylinders 60 Hp
The Carburetors have a tube that runs through the float center and up into the main intake there is a smaller tube in this tube. and on one of the carburetors the smaller tube is bent so that it touches the side of the big tube.
is this a problem that needs to be fixed.
Other wards the float is horizontal and these tubes that supply the gas run vertical through the center of the float the little one is longer and touches the top of the main intake channel.

Re: Carburetor question

I have 1 carb on my 28 hp, I just rebuilt it, and the little tube inside was on a slant touching the other tube also. Yours may be differnt then mine as there are many yrs in between but mine started right up? Im kinda curious to see if that small tube maybe got bent on mine also.

Re: Carburetor question

That tube, as well as the big tube, provides a circuit with fuel. Intake vacuum will draw the fuel up through the tube and into a circuit that will meter it to your cylinders.

Re: Carburetor question

Made..... The larger brass tube is the high speed nozzle. The smaller tube is the feed line for the slow speed passageway. DO NOT attempt to straighten that tube. It is designed in that manner for a purpose.

Re: Carburetor question

Yea you are right it turns out that both of my carburetors are the same. My mistake telling you that the 2 tubes was different on one they both have the small tube touching the side of the big one it suppose to be that way I can tell now by taking a closer look at them.
