Is that just paint over bondo mat?!

I'm redoing mine out of 1/2" ply.. It's a little simpler and I only have a fuel and voltage gauge and some switches. I was going to gelcoat it with my leftover gel from the deck, but if that's how well paint works, I won't bother!

I love the cupholder and the wood. It looks great. I hope mine comes out looking half that nice.

BTW -- how many layers of bondo did you use? You've inspired me to try the cupholder... any tips?

dsiekman, it's redwood.
I wanted something that will last for a while, teak or mohaganie is way to much $ and really heavy wood and the redwood will last if sealed and it's light weight and nice on the wallet.

I'd use Rustoleum Oil Based Enamel with Valspar Acrylic Enamel Hardener from Tractor Supply. Page #10 in my resto thread has all the info on how to mix it and apply it.
