carpet removal

Im trying to remove the carpet from a 1996 Astro fiberglass bass bout. The last owner replaced the carpet 4 years ago with indoor outdoor carpet. The glue he used to apply the new carpet was Henry 663 outdoor carpet adhesive. I have tried using their Henry easy release glue removal on the hatch covers, which are aluminum and it just doesn?t work like they say it should. Also they are not sure if it would damage the fiberglass.

Just in case someone else wants to know, I found out that acetone will help cut the glue and remove the carpet. It also works very fast
