Re: *&^% cats!
I delivered three to animal control last week, although once I removed the lone female, it has slowed down dramatically.
I had a week last year where twenty ferrel or "free range" cats were brought to animal control.
Sorry cat owners, but my dog couldn't roam the neighborhood and camp out on your car or boat. Your cat doesn't get a pass.
I seem to attract stray animals (and neglected kids) and I have gone out of my way to return strays to their homes if they have a collar and tag.
I had a stray dog here a year ago that had an expired rabies tag from Colorado. I called the vet office there and found out the family had just been transferred here to Fort Hood, Texas and they were walking distance away. They were happy to see their pup.
Sorry if your cat or little dog ends up in the trap without ID. They can be found at Animal Control.
I just had this conversation with my neighbor. I have three live traps set up around the property here in Texas. I didn't care about the paw prints on the vehicles, but when I found claw marks across the hood of the newly painted Olds, I had to draw the line.I have zero tolerance for roaming cats. I don't leg my dog crap in other peoples yards and I don't tolerate cats in my yard digging up the gardens and pi$$ing on the car tires. I have used mouse traps, mothballs, repellents, set the dog after them etc but they kept coming back.
I then contacted the local animal control dept and they offered a live trap I borrowed. I set it each evening, caught a cat then dropped it off at the animal control office on my way to work in the morning. After several days that cats were gone. IF the owner were to claim the cat it cost them $40 and I could catch it again![]()
