I know this has probably been done but I haven't been able to find it. What are your opinions on electronics from these?? I'm leaning towards CDI I've heard alot about them on the mercurys..what do you guys think?? I have heard some bad luck with sierra and the oe parts are beyond being able to afford. Wondering ANY and ALL opinions that people want to give on these ignition parts....I have a johnson 140 1978 that I'm about to have to get a stator and probably timing base for..so I'm wondering. Thanks!!

iboats has most CDI electronics. I have had good service, quick and reasonably priced shipping.

Re: CDI, SIERRA, OMC??? opinions

thanks you guys...thats what I was thinking...I think I've narrowed my timing prob to my timing base...everything else checks out...I'm selling some stuff on ebay so I think while I change it i'm going to do the stator too. That way I know what I have...and maybe won't have to get back under there for a while....my resistance was a bit high on the stator anyways...by about 50 ohms. Thanks again!
