changing belts

I have a 1990 Mercruiser 350 inboard. I replaced the impellar on the Jabsco raw water pump. I want to replace the belt but I can not get the old one off. The pulleys on the water pump and the motor are too close together. There are no bolts to take them off except the engine pulley. Do I have to take that one off?

Assuming your problem is the gap between the 2 pulleys shown by the blue arrow in the drawing below, I normally just loosen the belts and remove the 4 bolts on the circulation pump (shown in red).
