That is a good switch, if you want to keep basically the same speed and rpms you had before... SS props do not flex like aluminum, so your rpms would drop (if the pitch didn't change), and you would get more bite out of the prop. Allowing you to possibly raise the engine higher for better speed/performance.<br />Basically, going to a SS with 1" less of pitch is just about what you need to do (in most cases) to prevent excessive rpm loss.<br /><br />You haven't stated what motor and boat you have, so I can't be very specific on what performance changes you may or may not have. But your choice in the prop to change to, seems just fine IMO....
