At the engine terminal board (next to the starter) disconnect the BLUE wire(s) or the white wires and crank it over. Now see if it has spark. Blue and white are the stop circuit.

If it now has spark, check the ignition switch or the man overboard kill switch (if the control box has one). The red clip should be in the kill switch.

Yes, the ignition switch is in the dash or on the control box. It should have six terminals, push to choke. Two terminals should be marked "M" These are the stop circuit. White wire attaches to one "M" and blue to the other. When the switch is off, the "M" terminals have continuity. The CD boxes are discharged to ground through the blue wire and no spark is made.

You also need to check that there is NO continuity in the kill switch. If the engine has one it will usually be mounted in the control box and there will be a plastic clip (usually red) with a lanyard attached that holds the kill switch open.Whebn you fall overboard with the lanyard attached to you, it pulls the clip, the kill switch closes, and the CD boxes are again grounded.
