its really intended for smaller boats say aluminum and fiberglass up to 18ft. I thing a 3000lb boat would knock it around, that a good sized boat!
I forgot to mention i too an 8 ft treated 2x2 and shoved it in the top on of the ladder stabilizer before i slipped the pvc over to give it more rigidity. also my trailer had side rollers did not work well w/my boat so i bolted them to the bottom of trailer and to the vertical part by the rollers to give it more stability.
So far they work fine with my 16 ft CC (w gear around? boat 600 dry, 100lbs batteries, 150-200lb motor troling motor, 60 lbs gas, you get the idea!)
