Hey Everyone:
I have a 2004 Sea Ray Select 200 that has a 5.0L Mercruiser 260hp MPI (serial number 0M666426) with a Bravo drive. I took the boat out twice this weekend and it ran great both days other than the "Check Engine" warning coming up on my Smart Craft indicator (with 2 consecutive beeps every minute oir so). When looking at all of the gauges however, everything looked great:
Oil Pressure ? Great (50-60 depending on throttle)
Temp ? 147 Max
Battery 14 volts
Water Pump Pressure ? Great
All Fluid Levels full
No visible signs of anything loose or disconnected
When the boat was out of the water and hooked up to a hose for flushing, the alarm did not go off. I tried twice (two separate days) during flushing to wait for the alarm but nothing. When in the water, it didn't mater whether I was idling or cruising (at 3000 rpms or above), the alarm would go off. Out of the whole weekend, it did stall once briefly at idle but it started right back up. There were also times where several minutes would go by (10-15 minutes) and no alarm and then it would start once again.
Usually the Smart Craft system gives me a reason but all it said was ?Check Engine? and it would beep twice every minute or so. In spite of the annoying alarm, the boat ran great. Any idea as towhat may be the problem? I suspect that I will ahve to have it hooked up to check for codes but am hard pressed to find a reputable and certified service mechanic in Tampa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Chris
